1. What we collect

When you use WebMole, we collect:

Account data: Email address and hashed password when you sign up.
URLs you scan: The website URLs you submit for AEO audits.
Audit results: Scores, citations, and fix suggestions generated by our analysis.
Payment data: Processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and basic device info (browser, screen size) to improve the product.

2. How we use it

Run AEO audits and generate fix suggestions for the URLs you submit.
Send transactional emails (confirmations, score alerts, password resets).
Process payments and manage your subscription.
Improve WebMole — we analyze aggregate usage patterns, never individual browsing.

3. Third-party services

We share data only with services required to run WebMole:

Supabase — database and authentication (hosted in US).
Stripe — payment processing.
Vercel — hosting and edge functions.
Resend — transactional email delivery.
AI engines (OpenAI, Perplexity, Google, Anthropic) — we query these to check if your site appears in AI answers. We send your URL and brand name, not your personal data.

We do not sell your data. Ever.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — for authentication sessions. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels from third parties.

5. Data retention

Your audit data is kept as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregate analytics may be retained.

6. Your rights

You can:

Export your data at any time from Dashboard → Settings.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Opt out of non-essential emails.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. All traffic is encrypted via TLS. Database access is restricted to authenticated services only. We run on SOC 2 compliant infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, Stripe).

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
